Very Good.
If you enjoy 3D and have the budget, this monitor is worth the price. Currently, only a few games officially support it, but the 3D effect significantly enhances immersion by adding depth and pop-out to those ‘flat’ games. Samsung plans to add about 50 supported games by the end of 2025

Impressive 3D Monitor With Room to Improve
Recently, after numerous monitor-swapping delays and a thorough shop hunt, Iâve finally upgraded to the SAMSUNG Odyssey G90XF 27âinch 3D UHD monitor. I’d have preferred Samsung to have a 32â³ option, but this 27â³ model is still just as good by delivering the same albeit slightly lower performance as the 32″ model, which was sold at nearly $2,000 MSRP, while this one has been frequently discounted to $1,699-$1,799. After the initial setup, the effect of the glasses-free 3D is awesome; although it is not exactly at the same level with the traditional 3D glasses, it definitely is a mind-blowing preview of the future.Additionally, it is just a normal UHD gaming monitor aside from the 3D feature: 165 Hz, 1 ms response time, FreeSync/Premium & G-Sync compatibility, vivid colors, and slick design. Yet, the resolution in 3D mode goes down, and the content/studio support is also quite limited. The product is the first generation: revolutionary, but with some flaws.For innovation and immersive visuals, I wanted to give it 5 stars if itâs glasses-free 3D, but I deducted one star because of the high price, not so large a screen size compared to the price, and the fact that it is still an early-stage technology. Also, OLED is more suitable for 2D HDR tasks. Overall, it’s still, as a pioneer, this is a nice step forward.

Works ok but two issues
Issue 1: Samsung has not released the SDK for the LeiaSR 3d stuff. LeiaSR has also removed their SDK from public downloads and limited it to partners, so this means you likely won’t find innovate and interesting 3D apps for your monitor, or be able to develop your own as a hobby project. Lame.Issue 2: The black screen (black wallpaper, no icons) becomes half gray if you move your mouse onto it. Could see that annoying people, it’s like it doesn’t do local dimming at all.

Beautiful Display, Smooth Performance â But 4K Gaming Isnât for Everyone
This is hands down the nicest monitor Iâve ever owned. The display is absolutely gorgeousâsharp 4K resolution, vibrant colors, and a buttery smooth 165Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time. Iâm not totally sure what panel it uses, but it looks very close to OLED quality. The color accuracy and brightness make it great not only for gaming but also for photo and video editing, which I do on the side. At 27 inches, it hits that sweet spot between screen size and clarity, especially for desktop work.Gaming at 4K is beautiful, but I will sayâitâs not the most practical for everyone. Most people donât realize how powerful your computer needs to be to run games at 4K and get the full 165Hz experience. Youâll need a top-tier GPU and CPU to push those kinds of numbers, so unless youâve got a monster rig (and deep pockets), itâs more realistic to game at 1440p on this monitor and still enjoy a great experience. Personally, I think 1440p is the real sweet spot for gamers, especially in terms of performance-to-cost ratio.As for the 3D feature, I havenât used it much. It sounds cool and might be fun for the few games that support it, but it does feel a bit gimmicky. Thereâs also some interesting stuff like Edge Lighting and built-in speakers, which are nice bonuses but not major selling points for me.My only real gripe is that the screen is a bit reflective. If you have a bright light source behind you, youâll definitely see it in the display. A matte finish wouldâve been better in that regard.Overall, this monitor is a beast. Itâs sleek, responsive, and packed with features. If youâre doing a mix of creative work and gaming, itâs an amazing choice. Just be sure your hardware can keep up if you want to get the most out of its 4K and high refresh rate capabilities.

A gorgeous gimmick, that will take your breath away
This is a tough one. On one hand, this monitor is gorgeous and gives you a beautiful color and depth of field. The blackness is not as great as it should be, but it’s very wonderful in games and videos. On the other hand, the main attraction is the 3D without glasses. In the app that Samsung provides (Reality Hub, which can be downloaded via the Windows Store), it looks gorgeous. However, like any other gimmick, there are not enough games to support the feature, and for 3D videos, the 3D video has to be native. If the video is converted from 2D to 3D (the software will do that for you), it will not look as good as the original 3D videos. I noticed that the two images 3D YouTube videos they give you are way better when it comes to being shown on the screen. The 3D effects themselves are amazing and it’s a really transferring experience. I have a lazy eye, so I would never be able to enjoy a 3D movie in a theater through the glasses. This monitor using that technology without glasses really convinced me that it is possible and it’s viable. The other drawbacks of this monitor are: price, thickness, weight, and the fact that you can’t combine it with any other monitor, as it has to be the only monitor for tea for your PC.Overall: As a 3D monitor, it is amazing, but as the main PC monitor, I found it a little hard to justify, from my prospective.
