READ WHAT YOU’RE BUYING BEFORE BUYING THIS. It’s a really good camera. It’s exactly what I needed for the little tinkering project I’m doing. I needed a camera that I could set to one focus and one exposure and it would never change and this is perfect. But, like, I’m aware I’m in the minority of what people are buying webcams for. I wouldn’t use this as a normal webcam for all the reasons I like it for my project, it doesn’t focus or adjust exposure. If you have a use case in mind, this is wonderful. If you’re just looking for something to go on top of your computer monitor, get a normal webcam

Works great as a webcam
This is not supposed to be used as a webcam but I love using it as one. I should have bought the 12mm version for my use but this works as well (buyer’s mistake on my part) since I can mount it far enough away above my monitors. I love the manual focus, zoom, and lighting controls since the typical webcam autofocus always frustrated me. The color is not the best to use for a webcam but all I cared about was the focus which is phenomenal.

Criticisms with Caveats
I was very excited to try this camera even though I haven’t much experience or professional knowledge of cameras and photography. My expectations were elevated somewhat by the sharp and highly saturated imagery on their Amazon page. To that extent, I’m just a tiny bit disappointed with the results I’ve been seeing so far, and though I will share my complaints, it’s with the caveat that I may need to 1) overcome a bit more of a learning curve, and 2) work within certain image apps to get better results.I first connected it to my Mac computer, and opened it via QuickTime, which is a very basic photo/video OS application. I really like having separate controls for the aperture, focus, and zoom, and each works well. In fact, I think the zoom is my favorite feature, as it does, for the distance it can achieve, pick up a good amount of detail. My main complaint is that the colors tend to look flat and slightly desaturated. I’ve played around with the aperature settings to bring in more light but it doesn’t help. Again, it’s not bad, just a little less than I hoped for.I then tried using it with my Android phone, which required some image app to allow me to select the camera that was connected to the phone’s USBC port instead of the default phone’s camera. I tried the most popular/well-rated apps but what they produces weren’t great for this camera either. Photos look dark and distorted, and an attempted video had a half-second delayed audio track. Again, I might need to learn ways to correct and improve these problems but it’s always nicer when it works as promised right out of the box.One other gripe is the stand. Included in the box is a package of screws and expanders. I’m assuming this is for installing it to a surface, but I’m not sure what to install it to. The instructions offer no mention of the screws. One thing’s for sure: you definitely want the camera secured to something stable. Twice I tried to balance it using the stand, and twice it fell over (fortunately on cushioned surfaces).For all of my gripes, I genuinely see it as a four star camera, and would not return it if purchased; however, I also expect that the more familiar I become with using it, along with finding better apps for my phone especially, I’ll enjoy the results at a five star level.

デスク固定用の Web カメラとして使おうと入手した。デザインはメカメカしく、古き良き時代のカメラっぽくて〇、造り自体はキレイで操作が簡単なのも〇、ただ操作してはみたものの部屋の中を映すだけだとあまり意味はない気もする。（Brightness は良かったが。）Windows のカメラ（アプリ）、OBS Studio で試してみたが、画質自体は素晴らしくキレイで十二分、もっとも 100fps が出ないのは PC が悪いのか何なのか、まぁ他に大きな問題があったので、こちらを突っ込むのはやめておく。個人的に大問題なのは魚眼度合い、商品写真の画像ではフラットになっているにも係らずなかなかのひどさ、個人的にはここで完全に×なので、多分使うことはない気がする。商品写真で嘘をつくのはやめてもらいたいものだ。
