Just what I needed

I just received the Tecknet laptop stand and had a few hours to play around with it and use it for both my iPad 11″ and my MacBook Pro.Initial thoughts: Opening up the box, I noticed this stand had some real mass to it. It was not light or flimsy. It appeared to be very well built. Moving the different pivot points takes a bit of effort, but that is why it can hold the weight of a laptop with ease. They could probably cut the resistance by half, and it would still hold a large laptop without breaking a sweat.The stand allows you to play your iPad or laptop at an ergonomic height and angle that best suits you and your particular setup. I used my laptop for a couple of hours and raised it so the screen was at eye level for me. I did the same for my iPad as well.Another advantage of this is that it raises the laptop or tablet up, allowing for increased airflow, which in turn leads to a cooler device. There are large open areas on the backplate for your device to breathe and cool off more effectively than if it were sitting on a desk or table.One thing I noticed on the iPad is that it has magnets, so it tries to stick to the all-metal stand when you lay it onto the plate. Because of this, I might have wanted one extra strip of the non-slip rubber protective coating along the bottom (and maybe one on the top, because why not). This would prevent the possible scratching of the iPad or the cringe-inducing sound of metal on metal if your iPad slams into the faceplate too fast and at an angle that doesn’t first hit the rubber pads. However, if you are careful when placing the iPad, it isn’t an issue. For laptops, they have no magnets, so this is not applicable.The stand has a wide range of motion and angles. The base rotates easily, which is convenient if you need it in your setup or use it when presenting something to another person at a different viewing angle than you.The stand should be compatible with virtually any tablet or laptop, regardless of weight. I’m not sure if a laptop exists that would be heavy enough not to be held up by this thing. It is pretty strong.Overall, it’s sturdy, well-designed, and has quality construction throughout. If you need this sort of product for your tablet or laptop to perfect its ergonomics & cooling, it should easily handle the job.

The selling point that got me to purchase this laptop stand is that it has a rotating table. The rotating table is what separates this stand from other stands that look and functions like this one. The stand arms are very sturdy, so I did have to use a bit of minor force to pull it apart, which I like since it assures me the laptop won’t just come falling down if I put it on top of it. The stand rises up very height, and even with the laptop at the highest level, it still very stable. The rotating table functions really well too, and it is stable, so it won’t just go around in circles if you just touch it, you have to turn it and it makes a clicking sound as you turn it, as it likes in place on each turn of the wheel.This laptop stand is made of really good material, feels very durable, it is not heavy at all, and as one could imagine, the more you lift the laptop up, the more airflow you get thru it, so helps keeping the laptop cool.In my opinion this is a must have if you have a hybrid type of work, where you are at home some or at the office some, since the stand is small enough when closed all the way, to fit in a backpack and take it around with you. This is definitely worth the value.

Neat Stand, Great Color
This is an attractive, black finished, laptop stand. I found it supported my Acer 16 inch laptop with ease (although I eventually plan to use it on an LG Gram of the same size).. The device relies on friction joints to maintain it in whatever elevation and angle you choose. I think I would prefer to have some kind of tightening mechanism to make adjustments should the joints ever loosen and sag. The fasteners appear to be of the star bit type. An Allen key type fixture might be more universally compatible. I found I could make small adjustments with and Allen key of the right size but it’s not an ideal compromise.The lower part of the stand is rotatable a full 360 degrees and I found it easy to get my laptop in the exact position I wanted. Having that degree of adjustment certainly makes the laptop more comfortable to use than having it flat on the table. I also like the black color since it matches my main laptop, monitors and attached AV system.The very bottom of the stand has low-profile rubber feet and there are also protective rubber strips where the laptop rests on the stand.This is great for my needs and I like it and enjoy its neat look.
