High speed network
It works well and delivers 2G speed over my network will work with Cat 5 E cableBut I will prefer to use cat 6 which will have a higher speed than cat 5e

Working but with strange behaviours (no more)
EDIT 2024-10-30:After some tests and checks, I replaced the cables between those items that do not work with shielded CAT-7 cables. Everything then works fine.—-The switch is working on most devices but there seemed to be some sort of compatibility problems with a few devices I have.I have a Synology 423+ with a USB3 adapter with a UGREEN RTL8156BG chipset. Upon connecting to this switch it works for like 1 minutes and starting to have random packet loss about 3%. Copying 500Gb files from a windows machine also encounter an error of unexpected Network problems.Then I plugged the cable into the default Synology LAN ports and the packet loss at the UGREEN adapter has dropped significantly. Only less than 0.5% and copying the same 500Gb again and there were no problems.I have a HP ProDesk 600G1 miniPC which uses an Intel I217LM chip and it did not work, no lights and Win10 showing cable unplugged. I have to plug that into another switch and that works okay (same cable)Last one is a UGREEN 1Gbps usb adapter attached to a Chromecast and that do not work as well.Other than that, I have two Asustor NAS, a WD NAS, some RPI devices and they all work fine.

Great Home Network Switch
This switch ticked a lot of boxes when I was searching for a multigig switch. It was very easy to set up, and the Web Smart interface is very nice to be able to see what’s going on and adjust settings as needed. A great addition to my homelab as the primary networking switch. I will be adding a TrendNET 10G switch as a backbone for my servers and link the switches. If you’re looking for a basic, consumer-grade non-POE switch, I highly recommend this TEG-3824WS.

Excellent 2.5 Gbit switch !
It is well designed and made. It was so easy to install, just plug and play. Increased the performance of my network substantially. Previously with a good 1Gbit switch I used to see 115 MB/s doing backups and doing an rsync between my two NAS units. Now I see 280 MB/sec consistently. A VERY noticeable improvement. Keep in mind that your router must handle 2.5 Gbit also.I recommend this switch.

Not Fanless
Purchased this because it looked just like what I needed. Plugged it in and it started screaming. It has 2 small high speed fans on the right side. Not fanless as stated in the Amazon description and certainly not quiet. The TRENDnet website also says it is fanless.If you need a quiet switch you should look elsewhere.Returned it and am looking for an alternative that is fanless.**EDIT** It appears that TrendNET has altered their web page and this listing to indicate that the TEG-S50284 has Smart Fans that adjust speed as needed. Still way too loud for consumer use. In a server room it wouldn’t be noticed.My 1 Star rating remains as it is based on what I bought as it was listed at the time.
