Whiteside Machine Company has been in the router bit business for over 30 years providing customer with quality products while at the same time striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Several woodworking magazines have tested Whiteside versus the competition and selected Whiteside as the winner for best router bits available in the market. Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside’s home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Whiteside’s quality, innovation, and customer commitment is still present in our superb product line, in the design of custom tooling to fill special customer requirements, and in the development of special machinery and tooling for our own manufacturing use. As always, Whiteside Machine is continuously striving to improve our product through new technology, improved production techniques, and ongoing research and development efforts; along with rigid quality control, vital customer feedback and extensive field testing. PRO EDGE
Worked beautifully on hard maple and western walnut… Very pleased with this investment…I have so many cheap made in “not here” router bits… Whiteside bits are American made by a family owned company for over 50 years… WOW! Whiteside will be my first choice for future bits… Pro quality and crisp clean cutting…. This set is a beauty….

    Quality bits
This is my first time using Whiteside router bits. Not disappointed at all. Cannot imagine needing to replace any of these ever.

    Solid and sharp
I prefer to use Whiteside, CMT, or Amana router bits. They’re more expensive, but last longer and cut much cleaner than cheap bits. You can get an especially clean cut if you cut in multiple passes, in opposed to hogging of a ton of wood in a single pass. Which will shorted the life of the blade.

    Top Notch
If you’re interested in more classical styles of routing then a large multi bit set might be right for you but I think it’s much better (and safer) to buy the few quality bits that you will actually use. I inherited a 20 year old bit set from my Dad and the only ones that had been used were the straight bits and a v-groove that he used to make a sign. I knew I would use these roundover bits a lot because of all of the time I spent using a sander to get nice rounded edges, thank God I don’t need to do that anymore!I’ve heard nothing but good things about Whiteside so when I finally added a router to my tool arsenal I had to decide – spend some money and go with quality or get every bit known to man in one gargantuan set. After reading some posts on a forum about cheap cutters flying off the shank and slicing people’s ears I knew which way to go and I bought this set. It was one of if not the only roundover set that I could find that came with a 3/4″ radii bit, which I’ve already put to good use putting a bull nose on a 2×4. I did it in two passes for each cut but I think it would have been just fine in a single pass. I used the 1/2″ to do the same on some cedar and it did a much better job than the ancient (but never used) Craftsman bit that I was trying to use before, no burn marks at all. I love that they come with bearings, it makes using them almost fool proof. They arrived coated in a plastic gel that was easy to remove.

    Cut beautifully.
I built a coffee table and used the 3/4 Rd over bit to smooth the sides and ends. I milled the table top to 1.375 thickness. The bit gave me a nice straight rim and smooth round over.I’ll include a picture later.

    Excellent Product
Product is manufactured in the U.S.A. I used the 1/4” Radius roundover & beading bit from the set I purchased. In the past I used a combo trim bit #2710 from Whiteside, very pleased with its performance. The 1/4”R performance was equally as good. Purchased the additional 1/8”R bit and cut out a place for it in the great case provided. If my budget allows only Whiteside bits will be used from now on.
